Get the Word Out

There are several methods that information about local business is distributed to the community via the Chamber of Commerce. Getting involved in either of these publications is an easy and cost-effective way to reach other Chamber members, as well as the general public.

CHAMBER NEWSLETTER: Each quarter, the Chamber mails a newsletter to all members. This features up-to-date information on the Chamber - Board activities, new members, and other Chamber news. Members are welcome to submit stories about their business, advancements or other news of note. Members may purchase advertising in this publication, or may insert a preprinted flier into it for a nominal fee.

CHAMBER PAGE. The Chamber Page is a monthly publication in The Humboldt Sun. The Chamber works in conjunction with the Sun to publish news and events about the Chamber. A ‘Business of the Month’ is highlighted, as well as reminders about Chamber events, statistics and a message from the President. Chamber members are invited to submit information or photos for the Chamber Page, and advertising space is available.

To submit information about your business for either the Chamber Newsletter or the Chamber Page, please contact the Chamber office. We have an easy-to-fill-out worksheet that will insure your story is told quickly and accurately.

PUBLICITY: We will display your business cards, brochures, menus or other promotional items in the Chamber office during your membership. Feel free to renew and replace these materials as often as you wish. Remember that the Chamber office is located in the Humboldt County Visitors Center, and has lots of traffic. This is an excellent way to alert travelers, as well as your neighbors next door, about the products you offer.

STRONG PROMOTION OF AREA: Humboldt County is a great place to live, and no one knows that better than the Chamber! The Chamber board works to promote Humboldt County as a great place to live, work and own a business. When tourists and new residents come to town, ALL business prospers, whether directly or indirectly.

BUSINESS REFERRAL SERVICE: Each month, the Chamber mails relocation and information packets to dozens of people around the United States and the world. Each day, many visitors ask for directions, information and advice about Humboldt County, and the Chamber is there to provide the answers.

MEMBERSHIP LISTS: Copies of the Chamber membership list are available here free of charge. The list may also be purchased as printed labels or on disk for $10. The address list is available to non-Chamber members as printed labels for $50.
